“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”
– 1 John 4:18
It is possible to go through life unable to fully grasp the depth of God’s love because of fear or the scars of past experiences. I can relate. In 2016, after the passing of my grandmother, I found myself questioning if God truly cared. In those moments of pain, I doubted His love for me and this is what led me to write my first blog post God Has Not Forgotten. I’ve come to understand that doubt is a lie from the enemy. Regardless of the trials we face, God’s love for us remains constant and unchanging.
One of the most cherished scriptures, John 3:16, reminds us: “God so loved the world (including you) that He gave His one and only Son (Jesus), so that you can spend eternity with Him.” This is Agape love, the highest, most selfless, and sacrificial form of love. God’s love is perfect, and it is this perfect love that casts out fear (1 John 4:18).
God’s love brings confidence and security. Where fear once ruled, His love replaces it with peace and joy. Romans 5:5 tells us that His love has been poured into our hearts, giving us a hope that will never disappoint.
The Bible makes it clear that “God is love” (1 John 4:16). When we abide in His love, we dwell in Him, and He dwells in us. This means that no matter how unworthy or unloved you might feel, God’s love for you is real and unshakable.
If you’ve ever doubted God’s love, I encourage you to explore the scriptures and meditate on the truths they reveal. The more you immerse yourself in God’s Word and His presence, the more your heart will begin to embrace His unending love for you.
Scriptures on God’s Love.

2. God chose you before the world began.
– Ephesians 1:4-6
“just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
3. God’s love is everlasting
– Jeremiah 31:3

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
5. You are a conqueror because of His love
– Romans 8:37
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
6. God’s love paid the price for your sins
– 1 John 4:10
“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
7. God loved you while you were still a sinner
– Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
8. Nothing can separate you from His love
– Romans 8:38-39
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
9. God’s love surpasses all understanding
– Ephesians 3:17-19
“that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
As you meditate on these scriptures, let them strengthen your heart and remind you of God’s unfailing love. His perfect love will continue to cast out every fear, giving you the confidence to walk in His peace and joy.
